In any situation you're encountering, you can be either adding or subtracting from the mood and emotions.
It's important to find a healthy balance between adding to the positive emotions: gratitude, satisfaction, pride, trust. They can feel forced and faked, or lead to complacency.
Even more important is weakening the negative ones: anger, hopelessness, sadness. Unless they are stopped, demotivation, and unhappiness will take reigns.
Finding the balance, and strategies to cope with emotions is one of the greatest skills one can learn.
