Build the ladders

Unless you’re a miracle, your success is built in top of many people’s shoulders. There are people who believed in you at some point, who took their chance with you, who elevated you, gave you wings, and acted as your safety net.

Are you somebody like that today? Being on the top, you need to build ladders, let other people grow too. Make their rise to the top easier, safer.

As a senior engineer, I’m ecstatic every time I meet the fresh, junior developers, with their unspoiled open minds, because I feel like I will be finally able to give back. By mentoring, showing the secrets of the trade, be a sparring-partner, or just the humble rubber duck for them to verbalize ideas around.
