Need to be organized? Use the way your brain is used to think—keep information, physical things, tasks, etc., sorted.
Managing a list of items? Sort it alphabetically: apples, oranges, pears. Your brain was trained for many years to intuitively place "O" somewhere between "M" and "S".
Keeping track of important things? Sort by importance: critical, important, not-important, sometime; or simply: !!!, !!, ! labels.
Anything time-specific? Order by date: outdated, today, tomorrow, a week from today, sometime.
Whatever you need to organize, there's always a higher order you can follow. With time, your brain will learn not only to use the ordering information to keep everything organized, but also to detect anomalies and errors (but that's a topic for another time).
